UW hates football. They have to tolerate it to fund the LGTB and title 9 celebrations

He has a point. Why the fuck throw him one ball

Dorian Singer and Jacob Cowing from Arizona didn't make the list either and both had better stats than Odunze
Addison is 8th in the Pac-12 for receiving yards and 10th for catches, so I have no clue how they select their semifinalists -
It’s almost as if Oregon cares more.

The Addison being mentioned plays for USC.LawDawg1 said:It’s almost as if Oregon cares more.

right. But I don’t think Oregon would be silent if they had Rome or McMillan on this one.RoadDawg55 said:

A lot of these awards and honors require preseason hype. Odunze will be a frontrunner for them next year if he comes back, but especially based on these tweets he's not. It's the same with all-conference and all American teams too. It's hard to do it with skill positions, but you'll see OL and defensive players who I swear have shit seasons who end up getting honors just because they were on preseason radar. Who cares. Do the best you can for the NFL and get paid.
That said, I was pretty surprised with how few targets Odunze got against Colorado. I also assume teams are trying to take him away and Penix isn't going to throw to him to keep his stats up instead of just hitting another open man. -
I’m glad James Odunze isn’t silent
The rot within this Athletic Department is deep and the general laziness shows on so many fronts.
Change and improvement doesn’t occur by being silent … silence just enables the status quo
If you didn’t follow any other program maybe you’d have the head in the sand enough to think the UW AD was fine. But this world that exists that enables their behavior and settles for mediocrity (at best) is absolutely terrible
And peeps are crazy if they think Rome’s returning -

And Odunze was the one vocal parent calling out Jimmy Lake -
Did someone analyze the film? Why was he not targeted?

Okay, but that's decidedly not who he's blaming. Read the second tweet - he's clearly ranting about Deboer and flat out asserting that we should've targeted Rome more in the Oregon win. He's not mad about a lack of AD competence and support, he's just mad because coach didn't give his son the ball more.Tequilla said:I’m glad James Odunze isn’t silent

Any parent who publicly bitches about his son's playing time, especially in the middle of a five game winning streak and the best program win in two decades, can fuck off. -

Lol at the hopeful fan tweeting back at Pops, "Let's get some momentum going for next season." I'm sure Pops like, "sure.gif".
Against Oregon, I'm assuming he drew two and had a lot of Gonzalez on him. Either way, it's hard to argue with the passing results from that game, which was very close so all calls had to be 100% based on game situation with no thought to post-season honors.
Colorado is a MUCH different story, where they had 4 quarters to just fuck around if they wanted to. -
Also notice how Fatters goes radio silent when Pops makes it clear that he's pissed at UW not the award panel. Fatters was all like, "yeah, WTF panel. or did Rome and McMillan cancel each other out?" Then Pops jumps in with the number of targets and Fatters is off for some mid-morning nachos.

The Oregon game was so close, yeah, you say fuck off, we can't think about your kid's individual awards. Every possession counts. Colorado though? They had an entire game within which to think about what they were going to have for dinner that night. I can understand the frustration with Colorado.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Odunze had the coaches and Penix' trust for the first half of the season. This is less about what Odunze has done and much more about McMillan becoming the better WR over the past 4ish games. You see how on his receptions he has no one around him? Route running. The Oregon game he at least drew Gonzales some of the time because that's who he emasculated ripping the ball away from. McMillan is even lowering the shoulder and getting TDs.
McMillan>Odunze=Polk>everyone else over the past few games -
Rome should go play for a team where he is the only good WR.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Instead, McMillian, Polk, Davis, and some good TEs also get touches
This is weak shit from Mr Odunze Sr. -
It might be that Rome's dad cares more than Rome. Sports parents nowadays are all almost 100% retarded.
McMillan has been a more consistent pass catcher throughout his career. This board used to rip Rome for stone hands, me included. Could be a factor.
Why doesn't Rome's dad go after Penix? I heard he's the one passing the actual ball. -
Quite honestly Mitch, my biggest surprise from these comments is that Peterman stuck with recruiting Rome in the first place

Kinda wanted Germie Bernard back from MSU

Should Deboner have padded Rome's stats against CU? I guess. But the dinner plans you mentioned probably carry as much weight as being a perfunctory finalist for a positional award.creepycoug said:

Either way, Rome is playing in one of the most high octane offense with arguably the best QB in the country. None of that is happening without Deboner. So his dad can yell all he wants, he just shouldn't expect anyone to care. -

Two weeks ago, every Dwag on this forum would have lined up to give Rome a BJ. You? assholes fall in and out of love easily and quickly. Yeah, fathers are a pain in the ass. Get used to it. Or are you really worried that UW's season is going to go to shit over what some guy tweeted on twitter? Please.

I LOVE the receivers. None really have appeared to be a Reggie Williams though where they are a one man army that can make their own plays. It seems Deboer's system and Penix' ability has done wonders for them.GreenRiverGatorz said:

With awards, I wouldn't be surprised is UW's administration is half assing it, especially given I think these awards are now super open to pay for play and being influenced by hype. You're competing against a program that somehow got Ugo Amadi the Lombardi Award.
Not even just for awards, hyping up your players more than they are and I think has even started to affect NFL Draft stock more and more. There's some recent Pac-12 guys who went way higher than they should have because their school's marketing teams force fed everyone about how good and elite they were like we are all foie gras ducks. -

McMillan has really played well the past couple of games. The play by play guys have highlighted his route running a couple of times and that's the difference. He's getting open. Odunze is big and fast but doesn't have the same quicks and obviously hasn't worked as hard on his routes. I think he's a great college receiver, but not so dominant that he gets a quota of touches. He definitely is no Reggie or we would have seen him house some long ones by now.
