Ranked choice voting in Alaska is the only reason Murkowski is on the ballot. She trailed 43-35 in the first round ballot, you need 50% to win.
Vote counting then goes to the second round after the lowest vote candidate is dropped and their votes are redistributed. That’s how she made it to the general.
