Not condoning what Briles did at all, but their football program was irrelevant before him, had two bad years since he was fired, and is now pretty good again. Most casual fans have no idea what happened under his watch and they are still setup to be a viable program moving forward. Top spot for worst hire should be reserved for someone who lost and ruined the program’s PR so badly that it will take years to recover. Special consideration should go to those who ruined or at least temporarily setback multiple programs. -
Jimmy Lake never won more than 4 games in a season... something even Tyrone Willingham was able to achieve.
