The "its not most the most optimal" is the hard part. America wasn't fat in the 50s and what's for dinner was definitely meat. If you cut out meat with its complete protein, you need to really work hard to get all your necessary amino acids. America is fat because of little exercise and carbohydrates. Science has been shitting on plant based diets for a long time. People just love the new big diet trend. So that way they can eat plant based for 1 day then donuts, pizza, cookies, and tacos the rest and try to take the healthy habit high ground in their size 42 jeans and un flattering shirt hugging their muffin top.
