What we've learned so far

The offensive line also appears to be miles beyond where it was last year. I don't think Huff suddenly learned how to coach, so it must be Grubb's influence.RoadDawg55 said:The way the players speak about Grubb is great. They fully believe he is a mastermind and I’m almost certain the offense will be great all year. They think he’s a genius and have bought in completely.
Shepard is such an upgrade over Adams too. I don’t think those two will be coaching at UW for very long, which kind of sucks but means our offense is good.
I’m not that worried about the running game. We play in the PAC 12 and while we are missing a stud RB (fun to think about), we have four RB’s and we won’t run between the guard and center in an 8 man box like that fucking imbecile John Donovan had us doing.
A lot to let play out and all that matters is eventually accomplishing great things, but we have at minimum, a good coaching staff. -
The fact that DeBoer sent him straight to the bench after getting burnt and getting that PI call was a good sign.theknowledge said:I’m not sure Powell will be a starter for much longer. This isn’t Jimmy or Pete. If guys don’t produce I imagine this staff will plug guys in until someone steps up. They won’t let just one guy get burnt all year. They’ll let many.
The CB room is an absolute mess and unfortunately, I think Juice Brown is one of our weaker position coaches. We heard all camp how good Davon Banks was gonna be and he looked completely lost. Perryman was incredibly disappointing. Irvin has looked the best but I don't trust him yet.
That position is going to be our Achilles heel all year -
That may be right here, but if you want playoff and something more than conference bragging rights, D still counts.haie said:We haven't learned anything.
No one is going to be shocked if UW has a bad day on offense.
App State? Ugh, sure. I guess.
WSU is exactly what has been expected. Good defense, absolutely shit offense. Good luck against SC, UW, Arizona, Utah, Beavlet at their shit hole. Shaking up to be a special #LimpDickert season.
SC and UCLA only have doubters because people are fucking stupid and don't understand that in modern college football you just put up a bunch of points and get a random turnover. You don't need a defense that will impress the stat nerds anymore. Why I've been saying that Oregon and Utah will underwhelm to those two teams and UW after everything has played out. -
From DB U to this shit. What the fuck?bananasnblondes said:

Sounds like every player is speaking about the difference between Grubb and Donavan.RoadDawg55 said:The way the players speak about Grubb is great. Wonder what Lake is up to these days

Even worse, he did travel and he quit on the team at half of the sun bowl down 21-0 (after playing the first half)theLSkid said:

4th q of the game last night you could see him whining while the freshman got a drive at the end.
De Laura is done probably midway through 2nd Q against NDSU, he’s gonna get hit and will fold like the charmin soft fake poly that he is. -
Simone from the group will get better and rose above but there is no doubt that we will be cussing and screaming at these CB’s at some point this year.bananasnblondes said:

Trice is a beast of a pass rusher and ZTF has it in him. Voi is a situational player that will make some plays too. -
Penix’ health could be the difference between 12 wins or 3 wins. It’s going to be stressful the entire season knowing that.
The struggle of the interior OL and lack of a running back is gonna cost 1-2 wins alone.
The receivers could compete to be the best group UW has had outside of 2016.
The pass rush might be legit.
The CBs are going to have to take some torchings to find out who the best options are and it probably takes a few more games.
Having a functional offense will make giving up some points and getting behind not an automatic death sentence like it used to.

Just ask Abraham Lucas about Jayden in the locker room and I think you’ll get an interesting answerRoadDawg55 said:
I don’t think he was a cancer. He has a different type of charisma than most QB’s, but DeLaura is a pretty good QB. WSU hired the head coach of Ward and they were essentially a package deal. DeLaura is a mid level PAC 12 starter IMO.theLSkid said:

Arizona sucks. They were a disaster last year and while they had a good recruiting class considering how down and out they were, they still have shitty talent.
DeLaura had a substantially better supporting cast at WSU than he does at Arizona. They suck. Their preseason o/u was 2.5. They are going to look like shit and struggle like shitty teams do.

It’s probably because we’re not running archiac run blocking schemes which means we’re not getting in 3rd and long all game!bananasnblondes said:

Didn't Grubb coach the OL before for some schools? He probably has some good insight. -
Grubb is amazing, it definitely helps but he isn't day to day developing. I think a lot of the improvement comes from Mckeefry we aren't slow, fat, and sluggish up front.DawgDaze71 said:Backthepac
