I had a week of training that included a Sao Paulo cop. They were the bank robbery capitol of the world at that time. His job was riding shotgun in a chopper and shooting bank robbers during the pursuit. They simply lit them up.

Seeing citizens do this warms my heart!

Can we start doing that with car thieves?

As someone who boosted a quart of beer or two when I was in my youth I would hate to think I deserved to be shot when I did so. Stealing a man's car should be treated like stealing a man's horse was in the old West. I'm willing to include catalytic converter theft in that as well.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle is, for all practical purposes, not criminally charged in the State of Oregon anymore.

I went on a walk today then thought man I could really use a topo Chico. So I walked to the car and realized I didn't have my wallet. Okay whatever its a half mile down the road no one's gonna pull me over. Got there and my phone pay didn't work. So they gave it to me free on an iou.

I haven't gone and paid them back.

    I'm ashamed

As you should be. Do you really want to go to hell for a such a minor offense? What if that's the one sin that tilts the balance?

Well I'll prob take a walk over there in the morning and get an iced coffee. Get a couple thousand steps in and wake up.

But if it's not the same dude....I might just not say anything.

Or will the guilt eat at me?
