VH1 had a series called I love the 80s that went year by year on all the cool shit

The micro groove long playing record is dead. Long live the micro groove long playing record.

I think it's funny how society was like
"wow, CDs are so much better. Superb quality, more convenient, no skipping/hissing, etc. "
And then after a couple decades society was like
"just kidding. Vinyl is actually better."

The CD was perfect for the Walkman and better than cassettes which beat out the legendary 8 Track player where tracks would change randomly in the middle of a song
I hung on to vinyl until we bought a house in 87 and my wife decided we? didn't need all those albums anymore

I still think they were the right choice for most consumers in the late 80s and early 90s once the price of CD players got under control.Fenderbender123 said:I think it's funny how society was like

It's funny though how they tried to claim superior sound, however, when anyone with non beat up vinyl and a good 2 channel stereo, knew that digital did no produce better results. -
I miss the high tech system I got for Christmas around 1979 or 80 with a turn table and an 8 track player. It came with both Boston albums and Kiss Alive II on vinyl plus Double Fantasy and Cat scratch fever on 8 track. Best Christmas ever. Fuck the 80s.
