The 2023 class has 177 offers across 30 states. The top 4 states by offer are CA (64, 36%), TX (23, 13%), AZ (12, 7%), FL (10, 6%), and WA (10, 6%). The focus on CA, TX, and AZ reflects how DeBoer and his staff recruited at Fresno if you look at his offers and commits his 2 years there. The other east coast and midwest offers likely reflect work already started by Shepard and Breckterfield when they were at Purdue and Vandy (we have 10 states with offers for WR and 19 states for DL).insinceredawg said:

I also wonder how much of it is due to DeBoer and his staff not making Washington a priority at FSU and having more solid connections in CA, TX, and AZ. I wonder if they had to do more research on WA kids, watching film and talking with coaches, before feeling comfortable with extending an offer. That and they probably already had a number of offers out to CA and TX kids who they already started working on while at FSU.bananasnblondes said:
Agree. How difficult is it to go meet with the guy for an afternoon or invite him in after getting hired. Yes, the guy is shady as fuck but the top recruits in the area do go through him so swallow your fucking pride for a day instead of doing irreparable damage to your in-state recruitinginsinceredawg said:
The narrative on DM and Discord are it's Jimmy's fault for poisoning the relationships with the local schools and 7v7 programs. That could be partially true but I don't think KDB should be blameless in this shit show. They had a chance to go suck off Tracy and Reggie before Lanning arrived in Eugene but instead they were throwing out hail mary offers to kids all over the country. I refuse to believe that if they had gotten all in on the local recruits that we'd be seeing this type of exodus. This is 3 years in a row where UW completely misses on the top in state talent.Tequilla said:The in-state stuff at this point is borderline laughable
2024 class looks more normal right now with WA ahead of all other states besides CA.
The 2024 class has 70 offers across 14 states. The top 4 states by offer are CA (35, 50%), WA (11, 16%), AZ (6, 9%), and TX (5, 7%). Now that DeBoer and staff are in WA, the focus in 2024 is now on WA's traditional footprint of CA first, WA second, everyone else third, as you can see the shift in percentages between states.
CA is +14%
WA is +10%
AZ is +2%
MO is -5%
TX is -6%
FL is -10%
In fact, the only state with more offers in 2024 over 2023 is in WA, so they are already making 2024 a priority over 2023. -
It’s been an issue for 3 coaches now (Pete to the least extent) so at this point it’s likely more systemic than coach specificinsinceredawg said:

That said the worst thing we could have done was hire/fire Thomas Ford … gives Tracy some built in ammo -
Guarantee DeBoer had limited connections at Fresno outside of California … it’s a big reason why the transition class sucked so much because he had nothing at Fresno that translated in recruiting to the P5 levelwhatshouldicareabout said:

Pretty sure the “vendetta” is deeper than kissing someone’s assinsinceredawg said:
Lanning didn't even have to do that. All he did to win Tracy over was stroke his ego by visiting FSP and taking him to Joey's. I don't think KDB wanted to kiss the ring and this is the result. If Nick Saban can do the electric slide, Harbaugh can climb a tree, and Brian Kelly can do whatever the fuck he does on that spinning platform then the least KDB can do is kiss Tracy's ass for 5 minutes a month so he doesn't hold a vendetta.AtomicDawg said:
Yeah they should have hired his brother or something to land these guys because that worked out so well.bananasnblondes said:

I can’t wait to boo the kids. -
Fuck Tracy. If And when UW wins it’ll change. Eventually kids will stop listening to it and I can’t understand why an adult male would waste that much time bad mouthing the local school. For whatever reason. Giant waste of time.

Hmm, first time seeing this article. Kind of sheds some light on Heir.

I think the focus of the programs has been helpful in getting kids noticed, and scholarships. That being said I think it's clear there are some huge ego's running these locations. The fact some of these kids lead with FSP or Heir on recruiting edits is interesting. -
Also apparently Tracy Ford (FSP) and Reggie Jones (Heir) are cousins. Interesting.

Eklund put in a 6-inch crystal dong for the 4* Safety recruit Jordan Sanford out of Texas. Obviously it doesn't mean much coming from Eklund, but that would be another big get. The combo of him and Holmes would be a great safety class

That would be an impressive haul from Texas with this kid and James. Helps soften the blow of completely shitting the bed in state.bananasnblondes said:Eklund put in a 6-inch crystal dong for the 4* Safety recruit Jordan Sanford out of Texas. I always question 4* recruits with limited offer sheets though. This kid is a 4* in the DFW metroplex and his top two are UW and TCU. Doesn't quite pass the sniff test. Need @Tequilla to weigh in. -
Other than Foster Sarrell I can't recall any top in state recruits that CP really wanted and whiffed on. I think he would've gotten Emeka and JTT if he was still around too.Tequilla said:

The staff didn’t have a good relationship with those 7on7 staffs, but it didn’t matter because they were winning so the croots still wanted to come.insinceredawg said:

Could be that he's a bit undersized compared to some other safety prospects. Film looks great, especially in pass defense.insinceredawg said:

Big week for Huff with 3 OL commits after Micah dropped us last week. I'm still skeptical about his coaching abilities but at least he appears to have his recruiting mojo back.

Achieving this group with arguably one of the most underachieving OL performances I’ve ever seen is almost a miracle. If they win this year and the line performs well, Huff should be able to corral talented classes moving forward. He’s proven to be a dang good recruiter, now he has to hold onto these kids.insinceredawg said:Big week for Huff with 3 OL commits after Micah dropped us last week. Huff needs to develop a line that doesn't lose 6 yards on 3rd an 1
Lot to prove. Guys here loved his recruiting before and the line still sucked -
KDB burning the predictable wildcat on 3rd/4th and 1 play from the playbook should help immensely hereRaceBannon said:

Agree. I’m praying Grubb is de facto coach and Huff is around to acquire talent, throw kick ass BBQs and be their buddy.RaceBannon said:
