Pete may have sold couch at a loss

Should be chastised for his lack of fortitude. Or Applauded for getting his nut from Jen and then lighting Jimmys bag on fire.

Honestly never thought he was happy with the move. Never got the impression he fully embraced husky football. I absolutely love him and would even do feet stuff for the guy. I'm generally a no go below the ankles, which I learned is haram from @PurpleBaze . Those three years were absolute doog boners and I loved every second. Sadly he wasn't able to overcome stuff as part of the gig, is no longer coaching, and if coaches again, won't likely be at UW.

Your first two years you fucking threw the seasons because Cyler Miles and Browning could dink and dunk to your heart's content. Wouldn't tell Shaq to suck it up when he didn't want to run the ball when you needed it.
You also killed the emotion in your players when they were up against big games which goes completely against what college football is about. It's why you had 0 upsets your entire time at Washington. -
First two years were "numb" and "blurry". That explains why our offense sucked so bad.
Also, if I had a nickel for everyone who has said, “I’ll be a Husky for life, but..." -
Pete came to Washington to break through that G5 ceiling and show the nation that his methods worked and were the best in CFB.
Getting UW to the playoffs is an accomplishment few schools can claim, especially considering how we haven't done anything since 2000.
Once Pete saw what Alabama was like, he tried to elevate his game (esp recruiting) and that's what caused his burn out.
Going into 2019, he knew he was done. -
Remember the Hawaii game? Dude had to milk the clock like he was New Mexico State securing the upset.DerekJohnson said:First two years were "numb" and "blurry". That explains why our offense sucked so bad.

Single handedly hamded Arizona a victory because "my dumb fuck system told me to give it to the back with no knees instead of just kneeling and punting and putting their win % at like .2"
2015 he lost to fucking Utah. At home! Fucking garage band fill in singer QB.
Then goes up like 21-0 against Todd Graham who then just destroys him in the 2nd half because his offensive philosophy assumes teams don't blitz your dink and dunl bullshit.

I hated Pete the first two years, but 2016 made it all gravy.
He will coach again somewhat soon. The bullshit about him helping businesses was always stupid. Pete has done nothing in his adult life but coach football. That’s his skill. -
Imagine if Pete was getting paid Don James money (ie non generational wealth). He’d have to grind it out like every other working stiff sleeping in the office drinking @MikeDamone approved Folgers covfefe.

Pete to Oregon after Lanning goes 3 - 9 this year.

Drive for Amazon then pop off about burn out

Doubt Pete will coach DI football again. NIL and the transfer portal are probably 2 of his personal hells.
-
i think he was burnt out coaching at bjc, uw came calling, thought it would reinvigorate him, did for a bit, realized he couldnt/wouldnt compete against playoff teams, and then he again realized he hated coaching.
-
Remember what Pete said when he was hired by the Huskies? What did he see himself doing in 10 years?
It wasn’t being the head coach at UW or aspiring to coach a more big-time Power 5 football program.
Look it up . . .
Don’t think any good coach is ready for the expectations of the Husky fans (Tyee folks) accompanied by a lack of support from the school’s Administration and an AD like Jen.
It helps to have the AD, Coach and fans on the same page and an Administration that at least stays out of the way.

He saw what happened to successful Boise State coaches that jumped to P5 schools too quick (or without being judicious) to P5 programs -

In 1983 Don James was making $103,200 or $308,000 adjusted to 2022 dollars. Hell, even the row boat corch makes over $300,000 now.trublue said:

Yep … I got the impression in that article that he will be back in the next 12-24 months for one last runRoadDawg55 said:I hated Pete the first two years, but 2016 made it all gravy.

No shit. I give zero fucks about some guy who was paid tens of millions of dollars in his career to coach a kids' game and then he bitches about burnout and passion and all that fuckery.YellowSnow said:

Try driving truck or working on a farm or anything in the trades to put food on the table. That's real passion and commitment and discipline.
Like we say, Peterman, fuck off.

I stack cans for a living. Pete couldn’t hold my box cutter.

In hindsight, Pete's epic 3 game run from the 2019 Rose Bowl to Eastern WA and Cal in 2019 broke me as Husky fan. Covid, NIL, portal just kicked in the door and finished the jerb.RaceBannon said:Drive for Amazon then pop off about burn out

The Rose Bowl was emotionally draining as hell I thought we had a chance (emotions not experienced in Atlanta). Then watching EWU re-run at @UW_Doog_Bot 's house eating bacon wrapped dogs, I'm declaring that Big Dick Eason is gonna ass fuck the Pac and win the Heisman. Finally CAL proved that God hates UW football and Thor rained down lightning on Husky Stadium. -
The Pac-12 in the past 20 years has had a really hard time maintain long-term toughness. Even the Pete Carroll USC teams were oddly much scarier when they had lesser recruits. Oregon and Stanford in the 2010s were similar to Pete's UW teams where oddly they got worse even when they were supposedly leveling up in recruiting.haie said:

It let me know that upper campus had won and Husky Football was indeed 6ft under Montlake as intended.

Upper Campus has killed Husky Football numerous times. Nothing's changed with us. But we were always one great coaching hire away from overcoming this handicap. Rick and Pete were close, but no cigar.UW_Doog_Bot said:

Alas, there's no way UW has the upper campus to win big in NIL era football. It's over. -
The OKG stuff was pretty interesting (the rest of that convo was just life coach stuff that's whatever). Hearing him explain the system is pretty convincing, but he clearly heard all the criticism of his approach lol.
Was not prepared for him to praise Sark tho. Yikes.
All that said - love Pete. He made us relevant again, if only for a minute. -
I knew Pete got paid millions but I can sympathize about being burned out. He’s already rich, doesn’t have to work, and he’s talking to a high school boy’s dumbass uncle and his handlers.
The shit that makes me mad is the shut about wanting to pursue other opportunities. What opportunities are these? Pete’s talent is coaching football. No big business gives a shit about his ideas on culture. -
I loved parts of the Petersen era. We lost our 3rd child to a miscarriage the night before 70-21. Watching that game was pure joy.
