Zero dead or injured justifies "SMOKED" clickbait?
-
This somehow popped up in my YouTube feed a couple weeks ago and I watched it. Fabled lore among the Tacoma folks I know.
-
I know a guy who claims he was there.

Don’t make me take this to the tug.

I remember coming out of the Legends Club at 1am in early 1990 after seeing Mother Love Bone, and hearing gunfire nearby. That's my hilltop memory.
-
Worked with a guy who lived on M street, who noted the M stood for Murder. Next few months a dead body was found in the alley behind his place and a cousin was murdered. It's changed a lot but still some interesting happenings up there, but it seems mostly homeless related.

MLB! Andy Wood's sister in law, Vicki was my chemo nurse at SCCA. CSBDerekJohnson said:I remember coming out of the Legends Club at 1am in early 1990 after seeing Mother Love Bone, and hearing gunfire nearby. That's my hilltop memory.

I briefly dated a girl who lived there back around 2009. I didn’t realize the neighborhood was Hilltop until she told me. Total gentrification.huskyhooligan said:Worked with a guy who lived on M street, who noted the M stood for Murder. Found the setlist from that night. Andy died about 4-6 weeks later.

PurpleJ I am 6'5" 260 lbs. Former Army Ranger and college basketball player. You really don't want any in real life. You are little more than a cowardly pussy.1to392831weretaken said: -
First child was born at St. Joe's Hospital on Hilltop. Drove through there frequently on the way to lamaze class. Summer time, heard a pop pop pop and thought we were gonna die in a shootout. Turned out to be firecrackers (thanks, @Swaye ) Scared the living shit out of me.huskyhooligan said:Worked with a guy who lived on M street, who noted the M stood for Murder. The late 80's/early 90's in T-Town were tuff.

Lived just outside the Hilltop near Wright Park in 91 & 92. As I was moving in a bunch of DEA agents were searching all the garbage cans in the alley. Second night I was there, somebody did a "two-to-the-hat" on a young kid in the McDonald's parking lot. Kid died. Thieves got away with all of $5. Tacoma was a fucking mess back then. Way, way better today.

Live within earshot of gunshots at Henderson and Rainier in the 90s and then pop off
-
Have a tear gas canister explode within ten feet of you during a riot in Quebec City and then have the newspaper lie about you in a front page story two days later and then pop offRaceBannon said:Live within earshot of gunshots at Henderson and Rainier in the 90s and then pop off

Relax. Twas merely a Joke, Pops. I'm very familiar with RB. My kids played HS sports & had friends and teammates all over that hood.
Skyway is just funny. Like White Center. Nobody wants to claim either. -
I take being accused of living in Skyway very seriouslyTurdBomber said:

Had a nice bowling alley though -
Disagree…maybe….I think Renton tried to annex Skyway but the residents there didn’t want to LEAVE!TurdBomber said:

By the way, City of Renton motto is Ahead of the Curve. When I worked for the city I suggested changing to “At Least We’re Not Kent!” -
Renton should be stuck in the curveCFetters_Nacho_Lover said:
