Absolutely great thread… I personally love the genre, but this is like trying to explain the origins of rock music and why iron butterfly was hugely important after the fact to people that are younger.
Still there is a coolness factor that transcends age that even pups should recognize with their eyes closed. Yow, RIP, this guy was awesome and unforgettable in his roles and thank you for the dream state performance, -

This is my take on just about every mob movie. The plots are always straight lines and not arcs; ditto character development; nobody ever learns any lessons or changes, they just get offed, die of old age, or go to jail; nothing that makes me actually like or care about anybody.
