I know our Governor is up for re-election but still. Frigging stud move.

We had a billion $ surplus in GA so Governor Kemp is giving it back to the taxpayers.
If you paid taxes this year and you are single you will get a check for $350. My son's check arrived yesterday.
Married filing jointly? $500 back. Haven't seen our check yet.
This is what should happen. Is it a move to help his re-election chances against Perdue? You bet. If being responsible with tax payer money by giving it back to them is an election advantage, so be it, I applaud it.

Oregon has done this for years. It's in the Oregon constitution. If revenues exceed expenses by 2% the excess goes back. Of course the leftists always salivate to get their hands on it, but when Oregon was a moderate and even red state, they had the foresight to put it in the constitution vs leaving it up to the whims of politicians.Bendintheriver said:I know, I know, none of you have heard about this. No way the msm is going to publicize this fucking incredible move and I am quite sure rats here tried to stop giving people back their own money. Rats leadership has already tried the bullshit line of "there are the poor who need that money for services and food". As if the money the state already spent wasn't enough.

The key here is they didn't let liberals spend it or should I say blow it.MikeDamone said:

Meanwhile Jay Chinslee led the State of Washington to be the ONLY state in the union NOT showing a surplus during COVID.
Congrats BidenBros - you voted for this retard, too.

That's why I mentioned it's in the Oregon constitution. Every year there is a rebate coming the leftist start in on how they need the money for the issue de jour. Nope. There is no debate.Bendintheriver said:
