MoneyballI could've picked any of 2-3. I saw Moneyball most recently and liked it.
-
Bad News BearsI should have picked Moneyball, but Bad News Bears brought me the most joy the first time I saw it while sick at my grandma’s house as a kid.
-
Field of DreamsNo real wrong answer here
-
This is "Which one is your favorite child?" territory...
Have seen them all, some dozens of times, love them all for different reasons. If I find one on TV, I will stop to watch a little, then move on.
There are three films that, no matter how many times I have seen them, I watch beginning to end, and every time it brings me to tears:
Brian's Song
Field of Dreams
Bang the Drum Slowly (early DeNiro)
I guess that makes me a sentimental old fool...
Also, a shout out to Fear Strikes Out, which was made before I was born, but continues to resonate today, for me..
EDIT: for lack of proper punctuation -
F.O. Row Peter Puffer, you left off...The Sandlot.
Why do you hate popular recruiting jifz?
Then probably Field of Dreams and The Natural (soundtrack boner). -
A League of Their OwnCould have picked any of them. Tom Hanks as Jimmy Dugan was incredible.
-
The Natural
Me likey Gena Davis in that movie. Total smoke show back then.greenblood said:Could have picked any of them. Tom Hanks as Jimmy Dugan was incredible.

Major LeagueMy friends and I quoted Major League every baseball season from when we were in little league in 1990 until we graduated in 1997. We weren't any good by the time we got to high school/American Legion ball but we liked to hit, talk shit, lose and drink beer. We identified with the fictional Cleveland Indians or whatever the fuck they're called now.

The Natural
Moneyball was a close second for mechuck said:I could've picked any of 2-3. I saw Moneyball most recently and liked it.

The NaturalMajor League is the most watchable

Wasn’t he killed with a piano wire in Cape Fear? Not so tough in that one.theknowledge said:

Bad News Bears
Major League is campy humor. Entertaining and watchable I’ll admit, but I can’t choose it.RaceBannon said:Comedy wins

For people in their 30’s, the popular choice would be Sandlot. “You’re killing me Smalls” gets a reaction every time. From a drug deal taking too long, to a spilled drink, or your buddy striking out with a girl at the bar, it’s known. Bystanders will react if you drop that line anywhere.
It’s so big and played out that it’s lost some luster, but imo, it’s probably the most well known baseball movie for anyone under 40. -

Sandlot is number two for me.RoadDawg55 said:

People forget that the Dodgers still had to win 3 more after that homer.DerekJohnson said: -
