Instate players

Interesting stat, CWU has only 6 players from out of state on their roster. SIX ONLY. I think Eastern has a few more. But, the point is, that UW/WSU have more like 15% of players from this state.

HOw is this relevant? I don't know, it just seems interesting.

The Seahawks only have one player from this state, last time I checked.

The only thing that stat shows is that if CWU/EWU are good, our state is producing good football players. I mean, this isn't Texas.

I'd guess this trend is true nationwide... lower div schools probably have more instate kids, upper tier schools recruit more out of Cali, Texas, Ohio, and Florida.

Since lower division schools take less money, why not spend scholarships on instate players (cheaper tuition) than out of state? Saves the program money in the long-run.

A politically incorrect way of looking at this too is (and this will get bombed/trolled although it is true anyway) if you are a white guy but not a huge offensive lineman or QB/kicker, what are your prospects in the PAC-12? VERY SMALL. How many white guys do you see on ANY defense out there. Not many. The white guys are on the OL.

I didn't think of that, but a school like CWU has desperately little to spend on scholarships, like they have 25 total. A guy from Western Oregon said they simply could not even fund that many.

Damn. Affirmative action has fucked up football now too? Welcome to Obama's America.
