    My sons 2nd grade class has been studying Shackleton this past month. Good timing here to say the least.

    I remember reading about it when I was like in 7th grade. I was fascinated by it.

    My sons 2nd grade class has been studying Shackleton this past month. Good timing here to say the least.

    I remember reading about it when I was like in 7th grade. I was fascinated by it.
    It’s a metaphor for Husky football. Didn’t end well for the DWAGS.

    It's definitely up there with the all time greatest feats of human survival in daunting maritime conditions. Certainly on par with Captain Bligh making it from the Bounty to the Dutch East Indies or the crew of the sunken whaler Essex (the basis for Moby Dick).

    I read the wiki page on the survival yesterday, it's definitely hollywood worthy.
