A little picture series called The Godfather had some famous actors.

I'm annoyed right now because we watched a movie last week where we kept marveling at how many big stars were in. I can't remember what it was for the life of me.

Pacino, Duvall, DeNiro, Keaton, Caan, were not big stars pre Godfather. That came later.

Only Brando was the major star coming out of the gates.
The question was "greatest cast" not "most stars"?

I don't care if they were all unknowns, that's a chincredible cast.

Too much inane dialog written by Jackson and his crew. It dragged down several performances.

True. But still De Niro and Brando were never in the same film. And it Part II De Niro and Pacino are never in a scene together.

They are still my most favorite films ever and even @creepycoug can't recite Godfather from heart like I can.

I just think there were other films that had a higher overall number of big acting names.

The Departed not only had a lot of great actors but fit the characters to them about as good as any movie I can think of.

The '..your daddy the fuckin donkey scene' is just one example of how fucking hilarious and yet brutal that movie was.
