DISPATCHES FROM THE BLUE ZONES: Fewer than 50 Seattle police officers working first watch for the whole city.
Multiple sources in the Seattle Police Department told The Post Millennial that sufficient staffing levels for a city as populated as Seattle should have no less than 250 officers on each watch.
However, according to those same sources, there were only 47 patrol officers working first watch on Friday, putting the department operating at only 18 percent capacity.

To paint a better picture of the dire situation, as the staffing crisis got worse during the “Defund the Police” movement, the department pulled police personnel from other departments–like detectives and traffic officers–and put them back on patrol.
This means that staffing numbers are exceedingly low even after the department has utilized all available resources.

You can cruise at 75mph on any freeway around here and not worry about a cop on bike nailing your ass like back in the day. It's a GD free for all out there. I've seen more road rage the last year than at any point previously. -
Everyday I drive into the city I see at least one, and often mulitple people driving extremely wrecklessly. 80 - 90 miles an hour, whipping across lanes, absolutely fucking crazy. I already have a little bit of a lead foot and these maniacs pass me like I'm standing still.46XiJCAB said:

Yeah, went to Eugene and back a couple of weeks ago and didn't see a state trooper on I-5. Fast lane was going 80 mph. On the other hand, West Linn, Lake Oswego and Tualatin are fully staffed and you see them everywhere on traffic patrol.46XiJCAB said:

Police: Corvallis man arrested after breaking into home and strangling showering woman
CORVALLIS, Ore. (KPTV) – An Albany man is in custody after he reportedly broke into a woman’s home, dropped his pants, and began strangling her while she showered.
The Corvallis Police Department said on Feb. 12 around noon, officers responded to reports of a burglary in the 200 block of SW 7th Street where a man entered a home before proceeding to assault a showering woman.
The 911 caller, the victims’ boyfriend who was sleeping in the other room, woke to screams before rushing into the bathroom to find the suspect standing over the victim. After being confronted, the victim fled.
Officers located Garrett Caspino, 29, who had been arrested twice earlier in the day soon after. Caspino was first arrested for reportedly entering an unlocked vehicle before being arrested and released. Shortly after release, Caspino was found hiding behind a pillar in a restricted parking area of the Corvallis Law Enforcement Center and was arrested and released again.
The Corvallis Police Department said due to the nature of the crimes on the third arrest, Caspino was booked into Benton County jail and charged with burglary in the first degree, menacing, strangulation, coercion, harassment and sexual abuse in the first degree. -
