I wonder if the media would talk about it if that were the case or would they do the same thing they always do in cases like this and just say it was "random?" Just crime in the big city, nothing to see here, move along.
Local authorities have identified a suspect in connection to the death of 24-year-old graduate student Brianna Kupfer, who was stabbed while working at a Los Angeles high-end furniture store last week.
The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for Shawn Laval Smith, 31, who is considered "armed and dangerous" and likely traveling via public transportation across southern California. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.

See, this is the response you get. You can't talk about it. Oh you can talk about how awful it is and how crime is getting bad but the elephant in the room can't be discussed. That conversation is only in one direction. Why is it that we have no problem discussing the element of race in a case like Ahmaud Arbery or even a case like Trayvon Martin, which had nothing to do with race, but in these murders, which are far more frequent, race can't be mentioned? -
