Washington men's basketball coach Mike Hopkins added two high school seniors to the Huskies' future roster, signing 6-foot-7 forward Tyler Linhardt and 6-foot-2 guard Keyon Menifield Jr. to letters of intent on Wednesday.

"This group really fits the culture that we've re-established at UW," Hopkins said. "They are really talented players with skills on the basketball court, but also in the classroom and in the community. We're just excited to have them."

Linhardt is a versatile forward who has a great inside-outside game from Seattle's King's High School. He averaged 21.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as a sophomore and was the MVP of the 1A Washington State Championship after leading King's to the title.

Linhardt, who announced his commitment to Washington in April, ranks as the No. 166 player in the country for the class of 2022 by 247Sports and the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Washington.

"Tyler is from Seattle, another local kid guy who can really put the ball in the basket," Hopkins said. "He has the ability to shoot, post – he just knows how to score. His three-point shooting ability will obviously be a huge part of his basketball piece, but he's also a great student. He grew up loving Purple and Gold and wanting to be a Husky. We're real lucky to have him."

Menifield Jr. committed to UW at the end of October, and Hopkins is excited to get him into the fold. The dynamic guard was the leading scorer in Nike's EYBL this past summer, averaging 22.6 points on 46.7 percent shooting for The Family.

He is currently at Phoenix Prep in Arizona after previously competing at Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan. In 2021 at Beecher High, he led them to a 16-1 record in an abbreviated season and averaged 26 points, 9.3 assists, 6.6 steals and 4.7 rebounds. He was the Michigan Division 3 Player of the Year and capped the season with a 37-point performance in a championship-game win. In all, Menifield lettered four times at Beecher, a school that also produced current Denver Nuggets guard Monte Morris.

"Keyon is one of the most talented guards in the country and we feel really lucky to have him," Hopkins said. "He has the ability to score. He was one of the top scorers in Michigan the last two years and was the leading scorer of the Nike EYBL circuit, which not too many people can say. His ability as an explosive scorer is a huge addition."
