Who Will Make Up Kalen DeBoer's Coaching Staff & How Long Before We Know?

SI (click for full article) https://www.si.com/college/washington/football/will-any-uw-assistants-carry-over-to-the-deboer-staffAn obvious question: Will DeBoer keep any members of Jimmy Lake's coaching staff or none at all?
Multiple former UW players have expressed their desire to have defensive-backs coach Will Harris and outside-linebackers coach Ikaika Malloe be retained for program continuity and recruiting purposes.
Harris deserves credit for continuing to develop NFL-bound defensive backs, something Lake really got rolling once he arrived in 2014 as an assistant for Chris Petersen. He's also one of the more fun and animated coaches, as the accompanying video shows.
Malloe, a former UW safety and linebacker, has been a Husky assistant coach and top recruiter since 2016 and he's been credited with signing top-level Polynesian players such as Zion Tupuola-Fetui.
When taking over a program, new coaches tend to view this situation differently. Some need all of their own hand-picked coaches as a matter of preference. Others deem a total housecleaning necessary to implement a new culture. -
Get Harris as far away from the program as possible. Then build a wall that he can never scale to return anywhere near.

If bob gregory and Bohnapha are retained burn the program down actually don’t care about any of the lot

Can the school pay assistant coaches more since DeBoer is only getting 3 million per year? As opposed to the 7 million that would have gone to Matt "My goal was never to win the big 12" Campbell?
-
Harris cannot recruit.

Building out the coaching staff
A quality coaching staff is one of the most important factors to a head coach's success. DeBoer knows this, and will spend his early time at Washington building out his coaching staff.
“I’ll be very diligent in putting together a great staff, and first and foremost a staff that can recruit,” DeBoer said. “We’ve got to bring the best to this program; we’ve gotta get the best players and the best character — guys that have a very high importance placed on academics. There is a piece to when you perform well in the classroom, you perform better on the football field as well. It’s not all about the best athletes.”
Expect many of DeBoers assistants at Fresno State, especially those on the offensive side of the ball, to follow him to Washington. Although he did not name any names, DeBoer seemed certain that there would be assistants from Fresno State.
“There will be some pieces from Fresno State who come here with us, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” DeBoer said.
Fresno State offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is one such coach expected to follow DeBoer to Washington. Any uncertainty on who will be coaching under DeBoer will be cleared up in the coming days and weeks as he gets to work building his staff. -

He also said he thought Haener wouldn't transfer

Anything concrete on Tedford joining the staff yet? Haener transferring leads me to believe he isn't going back to coach Fresno, but who knows.

Highly doubt they are bringing tedford over here. He could be using this as leverage to close the deal With the Fresno job as well. If Fresno offers the HC position why would he come here?

They only need to spend it if the assistants they hire can reasonably demand it.

Went to the Michigan board and the mod says their was smoke about Courtney Morgan leaving Michigan. Also, they really don't wont him to go. Seems like a great hire. Now im just trying to figure out if Eklund had the first scoop on something for once, or if he stole this info from someone else.

I can’t see Morgan leaving unless he is getting a position coach job.ROOFDOOGINS said:Went to the Michigan board and the mod says their was smoke about Courtney Morgan leaving Michigan. If he's as good of a recruiter as his reputation assumes, then he probably should be a position coachAtomicDawg said:

Is this where we rationalize not spending all the money we saved on the best staff in America?AtomicDawg said:They only need to spend it if the assistants they hire can reasonably demand it.

It’s exactly how I read it through the lines. The only way to pry Morgan from his Alma Mater is to make him a position coach. I heard Ryan Grubb wasn’t bad as an OL coach at Eastern Mich and FSTAtomicDawg said:

I could totally see DeBoer swinging for the fences with Morgan as a Position Coach knowing they can mentor him on the job with Grubb.
For Morgan it legitimizes his future as a Position Coach and all he has to do is balls out recruit and improve his coaching craft.

Morgan was at FSU before Michigan. He’s already a DeBoner guy.

This AD reached and got played by Campbell's team. If they don't put every one of those (4+mil per left on the table) "very available" dollars into that assistant and advisory pool, this AD should just pack it up and LEAVE already.RaceBannon said:

Dawgman says Moore is coming in as TE coach so sounds like Adams is staying on the staff. Bye bye Cato.
-
I'm not thrilled about Adams but if it keeps Bernard on our commit list by holding on to him for a year, then whatever. DeBoer could always put the WRs and TEs together a lot during practice and have Moore actually coach theminsinceredawg said:Dawgman says Moore is coming in as TE coach so sounds like Adams is staying on the staff.
