Nanu-nanu

One of my favorites ... but hard to not see him not ending up like this

This is a shitty year for overweight middle aged actors.

63 is middle aged now? I guess if you live to 126.OZONE said:This is a shitty year for overweight middle aged actors.
Was he overweight? Never noticed he was fat. Now PSH (ILTCHPSH) was a fat fuck. -
It's as relevant as the other topics on this board. A public figure that everyone knew committed suicide. It's news. Fuck off.MikeDamone said:Ts to the mother fuckin Ps.

Robin Williams has been dead for years, though.

Just posted a picture of someone eating hummus on FB. I'm classy like that.

I guess it depends when you think old age begins... but I think many people consider old age to start at 65, and middle age is the period before that. Don't know anybody (besides you) that seems to think middle aged = your ending age divided by 2. YMMV.MikeDamone said:

Yes PSH was overweight (though not in Capote), but I think Williams was certainly heavier than the BMI for his height... maybe not so overweight that he needed to diet.. but I'd guess he was at least a size 38+ waist. Maybe he was just big boned.... or I could just be wrong.

Favorite Robin Williams roles? Here's my top 5:
5. Jumanji - Alan Parish. After much internal debate, this one barely beats out Walter Finch in Insomnia and Popeye. Fun movie, Williams in his wheelhouse.
4. Hook - Peter Banning. "Bangarang!"
3. John Keating - Dead Poets Society. Williams carried this amazing film. Couldn't name another actor in it. Going to have to watch this again soon.
2. Sean McGuire - Good Will Hunting (fave Williams character line: "I had to see about a girl")
1. Genie - Alladin . Best Cartoon Role Ever. Nobody else makes genie work like Williams did. Showed off a surprisingly good singing voice too.
Can't think of anyone else as comedically talented who could pull off Keating and McGuire. Amazing talent. He'll be missed. Been awhile since he was super relevant though. -
I liked his ability to play a antagonist... as he did in Insomnia... opposite Al Pacino (the cop).dnc said:Favorite Robin Williams roles? Here's my top 5:

Agree on Good Will Hunting.

He had some pretty good dramas. He's a creepy fuck in One Hour Photo. I never found him funny though. Same with Jim Carrey. They are both too manic.

Insomnia was in my original top 5, just missed the cut. Very underrated flick. Agreed his ability to play the antagonist was very impressive for a comic.OZONE said:

I don't like Jim in a lot of stuff, but did like him in the Mask and in Me Myself and Irene.

I can understand not liking Williams' humor (I found it very hit or miss), but if you never found Jim Carrey funny you have to have been super young when Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura came out. Carrey was the funniest man alive for a solid five years. @Fire_Marshall_Bill will back me on that.RoadDawg55 said:He had some pretty good dramas. He's a creepy fuck in One Hour Photo. I like those movies, just don't think they are that funny. Maybe I thought Dumb and Dumber was at one point, but I've seen it probably 20 times.dnc said:

Hard to not have Good Morning Vietnam not on your Top 5 ... even Ossai would put it on his Top 5

For 63, I wouldn't say he was a fat guy. Always seemed normal to me.OZONE said:

Pretty sure I've seen him in roles where he looked heavier, but I'm not going to spend time scouring the internet for pictures of him. As I said, I cold be wrong.MikeDamone said:

Doubt it, but if believing that helps you get over being wrong about the definition of middle aged... knock yourself out. I don't really care.MikeDamone said:

I can honestly say I have not watched any of those all the way through. Mehdnc said:Favorite Robin Williams roles? Here's my top 5:
