(real) observations from Open Practice

Lindquist 'eh' and Miles looked in command but his throwing motion is funky, but whatever.
Kasen looked fine should be 100% by Sept. 27th. Ross in a boot but was jogging around with it and had no crutches. Daniels could be a beast. Had a long TD grab and destroyed Andrew Hudson on a crackback block.
Kikaha is unblockable, in a real game probably would have injured Lindquist, Miles and Williams in that order instead of 'touch' sacking them.
Danny Shelton's weight gain has been greatly exaggerated. Qualls back working with the 2s.
Our kicking/punting game looked like an unmitigated disaster. Probably the most worrisome part of the entire practice. (S/O to whoever loves Coons)
Wouldn't be surprised if Trevor Walker had to sit out this afternoons practice after Mickens broke his ankles and took it to the house. Very unimpressed by him.
Ended up accidentally sitting within ear shot of the Lemon Party trio, Kim could not stop mentioning how 'sark would never let his QBs put on reg jerseys and take hits."
Coach Peterman rotated to each position group and participated in making sure they were doing the drills correctly. Which was a nice change of pace for a UW head coach.
Hips look great!

Good chit. King and/or Baker will be starting at safety. King was the top back up last year, but missed all of Spring ball. He's a much better athlete than both Walker and Beaver.
-
Sounds Kim's everyone is really buying in.
-
Sark had to have plugged Kim in the butt at least 5 times.
-
I have little doubt Jeff will start vs Hawaii.
Our kicking game will be fine...keep in mind we haven't had a special teams coach in years and looking bad week one tells you it was after though the the past staff. #lacks_sizzle
Special Teams will be greatly improved and we have a 4 game pre-season to get dialed in.
Lemon Party...Kim...fuck that donkey ass motherfucker.
Good chit banana Taft boat -
My thoughts mirror yours:BlowItUp said:Williams 'looks' the best when playing QB, only problem he throws it to the wrong team and fumbles.

Williams was the most explosive QB, but he is the most prone to mistakes. Miles looked the best to me but he's definitely rusty. Lindquist is the safest of the QBs right now and will likely start at Hawaii and then relinquish those duties to Miles after the game.
Washington will be our primary running back this season as he was easily the most impressive RB on 11-on-11. Coleman and Cooper had some nice runs but nowhere as impressive as Washington. Callier is our best RB at catching the ball out of the backfield and his best plays where when he caught short passes in the flat and turned them into gains.
Having Ross out sucked, but it was good to see Hall, Campbell and Taylor split reps in his place. Lenius will probably play this fall as he caught everything thrown his way and did well blocking the outmatched CBs.
Daniels should be our starting at TE. His block on Hudson and his TD catch over Baker were the highlights of practice, and he looked solid all around in 11-on-11.
Kikaha was a stud, both at 1-on-1 and in 11-on-11. Shelton dominated at 1-on-1, too. Vita Vea manhandled every OL he faced in 1-on-1, though you should note he only faced freshmen.
I didn't really pay too much attention to LB or the secondary.
I agree with Taft that kicking/punting is easily the most worrisome aspect of the team right now. Some of those punts were ugly.
Easily the best part of practice was seeing Petersen visit all the groups during their individual position drills. Not only was he observing their progress, but he made himself involved and was hands-on. -
hey @whatshouldicareabout next time let's get together and talk shit about our current head coach who is 92-12 with 2 BCS bowl wins. I hear it's the cool thing to do.

We should, but it'd be impossible to talk shit about him without looking like a total fucking retard.BlowItUp said:hey @whatshouldicareabout next time let's get together and talk shit about our current head coach who is 92-12 with 2 BCS bowl wins. I hear it's the cool thing to do.
...oh wait. -
This thread delivers, I just spit out a bit some bud light that drinks like cab when @whatshouldicareabout he agrees with Taft. Has to be my small buzz

Was also at the practice.... you guys hit on the things I would have said, so I will just leave you all with this little tidbit:
Was sitting behind a couple of old white guys when a few more old white guys came over to them and said, "Is this where the realdawgers sit?" It was about the most awkward thing I have ever seen in my life and they were all really excited about pointing out that they were the realdawg crew. They actually introduced themselves to each other by their screen names. It was like real life lemon party was about to begin. @MrsPetersen almost threw up.
On a side note: During the event at the Taki Tiki, can we please introduce each other by our actual names FIRST, and then we can figure out who everyone is later. Fuck that was awkward. I feel like this needs to be pinned at the top of the board before the event takes place. -
Good to read some actual real opinions. According to Ektard, Durkee hit every punt perfect and looks to have solidified the starting punter.
-
I kid you not 3 punts in a row went 10 yards. Just fuckin brutal. But, we are talkin about practice and Nansen isnt coaching them it'll be alright.

I know everyone here associates Realdawg with Roof, but Lars is actually one of the better internet writers for the Huskies and is our best TBS.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Was sitting behind a couple of old white guys when a few more old white guys came over to them and said, "Is this where the realdawgers sit?" Lars didnt get froze out with the coaching staff like the Dawgman crew. He actually seems to be dialed in on the recruiting and not scrambling whenever something breaks on twitter like the Trio.
-
I couldn't tell who was punting during the live snaps, but only 2 kicks impressed me. Durkee had some nice punts (~45 yards) when they were warming-up.BlowItUp said:I kid you not 3 punts in a row went 10 yards. Just fuckin brutal. Great updates everyone. Keep em coming.

Kim's chin is merely a lounge chair for Sarks ballsack ...
What a fucking loser. -
Ektard, someone that gets PAID to cover these things, can't even spell Cyler Miles (He spells it Myles) name correctly in the practice report. I am probably just twisting but fuck him.DugtheDoog said:Good to read some actual real opinions. According to Ektard, Durkee hit every punt perfect and looks to have solidified the starting punter.

We are lucky @BlowItUp even poasts here.

I'd rather be right than first. Ektard knows this shit all along, but he chooses not to tell you until it's confirmed by people who beat him to the punch. Awful lot of twisting going on around here.BlowItUp said:Lars didnt get froze out with the coaching staff like the Dawgman crew. Enough with the Kim generated "funky" throwing motion bullshit. Makes no fucking difference in terms of delivery time unlike, say, the boozer Casey Paus. That was a horrific and slow delivery. Proved the Weaz was a dipstick of a coach. Otherwise good stuff.
Never understood Walker. Had no instate offers of any worth for a reason. I metioned that on cuntman a few years back and got a time out for criticizing a recruit. -
Vince Young had one of the ugliest deliveries you could find and yet was an unreal college player. Who gives a shit.

I would relax a bit on Walker based on early fall camp reports by "experts". There are a lot of very good football players in Texas who don't get offers by in state schools because the talent pool is so rich.puppylove_sugarsteel said:Enough with the Kim generated "funky" throwing motion bullshit. And he had a pretty good offer sheet (Zona, ASU, Purdue, Kstate, Okie St, Ole Miss), including one from a guy I will trust, Coach Pete. Also, when the dust settles, the two starting safeties could be Beaver & King, both who have very high upsides.
