"Pat Haden, USC’s athletic director, was a quarterback, too. He picked Sarkisian largely on feel."
Well he certainly didn't pick him because of his conference record. -
Lots of reasons were given for the hire of Sark & none had to do with his coaching ability.Dardanus said:"Pat Haden, USC’s athletic director, was a quarterback, too. He picked Sarkisian largely on feel."

He knows SC. He can recruit. He's not Lane Kiffin. He was 40-5 as SC's OC. (Never before was a coordinator assigned a W/L record). -

here's the answer to all those amazing decisions on critical plays we witnessed during the Sark Dynasty:
“People ask when you should call a shot play downfield. I can’t tell you. You just know when the timing is right. You trust your preparation and your coaches, and you understand that the opposing coach is coaching, too. And the last decision can’t affect the next decision.”
tl:dr version - he gets out-coached every fucking time. -
"Pat Haden, USC’s athletic director, was a quarterback, too. He picked Sarkisian largely on feel. Sarkisian was 34-29 in five years at Washington, not bad considering the Huskies were 0-12 the year before he got there."Dardanus said:"Pat Haden, USC’s athletic director, was a quarterback, too. You left out that bit about Owen12. Don't be a twister. -
Looks like Sark is ready to rumble.

Sark is the youngest of 7 children...that explains so much. No wonder he thinks he can get whatever he wants just because he's hip, cool, and brought UW back from Owen12.

That Oakland HC job in 2007 though, he stayed the fuck away from that. Good move too since he had no chance of a >.500 record in the NFL w/ Al Davis's team.PurpleBaze said:

Sark is obviously a BYU troll trying to make the Pac-12 look bad.
-
Sark's description reminds of the out of towner's who come to Las Vegas and pay all of our bills. Those gut feelings and hunches keep the lights burning bright and our economy roaring along. This also explains alot about the 5-4 conference records, the three game in a row losses, and the curb stomping's along the way. Thank you Pat Haden, you deserve a night of lap dances every time you visit Seattle for taking this clown off our hands.

I think DJ (ILTCDDJIWILTD) can answer this but I think I read an article on the real DJ (the coach, not the bitter and political author) stated that each off-season, he and his coaching staff game-planned every decision, every play in multiple situations so that in the heat of a game, DJ (again the coach, not the bitter and political author) knew what call he would make.Meek said:here's the answer to all those amazing decisions on critical plays we witnessed during the Sark Dynasty:

Meanwhile, Seven goes with gut feel and based on his physique, that leaves him a wide range of options.

Sark is such a dumbass. He's not fit to be a head coach. He is obsessed with play calling. The head coach should be setting the tone and instilling toughness and discipline. If you don't have that, even the greatest play calling won't cover it.
Play calling is overrated. There are going to be good calls and bad calls. When I watch the '91 team on tape, the play calling was conservative and even predictable. Same with Alabama under Saban. Remember their first title under Saban against Texas. -
Yes that is correct. The preparation was exhaustive.CFetters_Nacho_Lover said:

That game still makes me sick. Texas would have won that game if Colt McCoy hadn't gotten hurt in the first quarter.RoadDawg55 said:Sark is such a dumbass. He's not fit to be a head coach. If this is the kinda sunshine the LA media is pumping up Sark's ass, USC fans are going to be so fucking disappointed. Really hard hitting article, this.

He trusts his gut.
lol
He has to or it would kick his fuckin' ass. That thing is HUGE.
