Breathe it in. Coaching search dooging is the strongest degree of doog. Where dreams are possible.

Breathe deep. We know by virtue of being UW fans this likely leads to heartbreak and tragedy, but for these few precious days we can dream of an AD and university that realizes we're a football school with borderline unlimited potential, and that only through our own incompetence and pusillanimity are we held back.
I still dream of ships and roses.
Lol see you on Monday for the Andy Avalos or Justin Wilcox press conference.

He won't come here we can't pay him other jobs are better lower your expectations
But who can we get that's better? -

It’s great. New coach, new exciting possibilities, maybe this is the guy that makes us a true respected power again. You never know! I mean, I do know exactly what will happen but for a few blissful moments I pretend I don’t.Gladstone said:

I for one will be overly excited when Jen Cohen announced the hiring of a coordinator or failed coach as Jimmy Lake’s replacement. Think of the excitement if the team wins out including a bowl game under Bob Gregory and Jen steps out to say “we had the right coach all along and now we’re making it permanent.” You can’t fire a guy who just went undefeated.

I got a list of 5 names. 2 would be very exciting/ big big time hires. 1 would be fine. The other 2 would be a total disaster

I have a list of five names too.

Rock would be a surprising hire as HC

Whatever happened to Pat Hill? I'm hearing he's TUFF. And tanned, rested, and ready.

If we’re not listing Fickell/Campbell/Fleck because they’re never coming here, then don’t list Kellen Moore eitherbackthepack said:theknowledge said:I have a list of five names too.

DeBoer? Sure, I guess.
Fuck no on Sitake. But I also doubt he'd leave his alma mater during a period where he has them humming and is moving to a P5 conference, so hopefully there's mutual disinterest.
Klieman? Eh, he's been completely underwhelming at KSU. Sure he coached a juggernaut at NDSU, but he was gifted that program by Bohl. I'll pass.
Moore interests me. He's completely unproven, especially at the college level, but this is the kind of out-of-the-box offensive wunder kid hire that has caught fire at both levels of football over this last half-decade. I'd get on board. -
Tom Herman?

Hiring fired coaches is a big-time moveTrumpsWall said:Tom Herman?

On the fence about Herman, because I can’t figure out if the fact that he was “hated” in Austin was because he’s a shithead or because that entire program and all its boosters are toxicTrumpsWall said:Tom Herman?

Let's play a game...who is your nightmare worst case scenario coach you think they ACTUALLY WOULD HIRE? So not like Gilby or Willingham come out of retirement or Lake comes back.
For me it's Andy Avalos. Boise retread. Uninspiring. Done nothing special. Nothing remarkable about scheme or strategy that I can see. Seems like. JV Wilcox and him taking it would mean Wilcox turned the job down. -
This Tom Herman shit is obnoxious. He had one "good" year at Texas and was wildly mediocre for the other three. And that's to say nothing of the off field nonsense and his batshit crazy wife. And as bad as Sark is, the team that Herman left him is so chalk full of dipshits that it's plainly obvious that the Herman regime was overflowingly toxic.YellowSnow said:

Everyone needs to just shut the fuck up about Herman. Fuck that guy. -
You could argue Clay Helton was better at USC than Herman was at Texas. No.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Herman, 46, might be the most attractive candidate currently without a head-coaching job. He's considered an offensive innovator and excellent recruiter. He set all sorts of offensive records at Iowa State, to the point that Urban Meyer brought him to Ohio State as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
He stayed at Ohio State for three seasons, most notably helping the Buckeyes win their last national championship in 2014 while using two backup quarterbacks when injuries struck and being named the country's top assistant coach.
That earned Herman the head-coaching job at Houston, where he went 13-1 and 9-3, which brought him to Texas. He went 7-6, 10-4, 8-5 and 7-3, winning all four bowl games — and the Longhorns got rid of him. He's now an offensive analyst for the Chicago Bears.

OK cool. Hook ‘em.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Even though they gave up around 50 to NC last weekend, I would just go break the bank for the Wake Forest coach. One 10 win season ever at that school and he's like 8-1 with a semi-unique offense. Apparently other schools have tried to get him but still.

HE HAS A CONTRACT!!! -
He's a smug asshole. The only thing toxic about the Texas program/boosters is that we're not willing to play the game like our special needs little brother in College Station and our other future cousin fucking conference mates. We are going to have to shit or get off the pot if we want to compete going forward, be it NIL or bag game or whatever.NEsnake12 said:

But back to Herman... he is universally disliked and abrasive. He made no friends in Austin, which is a remarkable achievement as the Texas coach. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and isn't afraid to let you know it, but he's really a meathead in mensa's clothing. His teams played undisciplined, stupid, losing football. He had a blank check to hire the best assistants in the country and hired all of his buddies, many of whom had never coached D1. He had lame gimmicks like creating fake competitions within the team and feeding the losers burnt toast and runny eggs. He made the team do daily piss tests -- not for drugs, but for urine color to make sure they were hydrating enough. He has a rep as an offensive innovator, but he's really not one -- unless you consider running the QB until he gets CTE innovative.
In fairness, he did do some good things at Texas with regard to upgrading our facilities and modernizing some things with social media, and lord knows he was eons more competent than Charlie Strong, but at the end of the day he punched way below his weight as a Texas coach. He's a decent coach and if he had any likeable traits he would probably still be coaching in Austin (at least for this year). You guys could do worse, but you could also probably do much better. Either way, be sure to piss like a champion!

My @Fire_______? account is tanned, rested, and ready
There is an 81% chance we will hate him/her after 1.93 seasons -
Why the fuck is Kellen Moore on anyone's list?
