It's all on Jen for me. To get to this level, coaches are good to great, over a period of time, as an assistant. Gilby, Lambo, Helfrich, Sark, Coach O, all "checked the boxes" for that, and failed as the Head Stick. It's not for everyone, and it is apparent that Jimmy follows this script...Jimmy's track record with DB's is as about as solid as it gets, but being a HC, "It's hard".
When I got my first HC gig (yeah, it was at a JC, but still), I was sitting in my former HC's office, and the school prez came by. He asked me, "So, are you ready to go?" Before I could answer, former HC said "Hell no, he's not ready. I wasn't ready, nobody is ready until they go through it. That's when you find out what you have"...we have found out...csb -

I can think of no other employment context where someone is officially fired but gets to hang around and run the show.
Fuck, in corporate 'merica, once you announce you're leaving (voluntarily) for another position, even if it's not to a competitor, you're shut the fuck down. First call is to IT, then to HR, then .... If it's a firing, first call is to IT, then security, then HR, then .... I've seen people escorted out with their belongings who didn't steal or anything egregious. Just serious lapses in judgement and BOOM! No warning, etc.
It's a "you're with us or you're an instant stranger" mentality. -
I have resigned from jobs in which I was in good standing and gotten the “we hate to lose you and we will pay your salary for the month, but this will be your last day in the office. Good luck.” The idea that you could be terminated for either incompetence or a violation of company policy, in this case sort of both, but be allowed to remain on as a cancer for another month is fucking insane. So, it will definitely happen.creepycoug said:I can think of no other employment context where someone is officially fired but gets to hang around and run the show.
