Not sure whether this is 'normal' activity or if shippers are tired of fucking around waiting for Jay Chinslee, Kate Brown and Gavin the Fuckhead to open back up. The inference is the red states are going to kick ass going forward.
Goods floating around in the middle of the Pacific Ocean do no good.

A friend is in the import export business. His company owns two vessels and they also use other companies to move freight. He said fuel to go to FL or the gulf is a non-issue. The ships make money on turns. No turns, no money. Said that they happily pointed their ships to the gulf and unloaded in Beaumont TX.
California is losing billions. Is there a worst run state in the country? Completely bankrupted due to their own ignorance and arrogance. -
Have some plastics coming in from China, have been given a 4 month turnaround, used to be 2 months. Not a supply issue according to the manufacturer, the extra 2 months is for the on the water part.

Similar story with a prefab Aluminum product from S. Korea for my work. 12 weeks for fabrication and delivery on-site originally. Now, literally no idea how long it's going to take. Could be over six months.Bob_C said:Have some plastics coming in from China, have been given a 4 month turnaround, used to be 2 months. This is also after the air district basically closed up shop on issuing any permits during covid. Didn't furlough anyone mind you, they just couldn't work but could still get paid. -
