Sure, do that, too. I don't think the "market solution" does much for the kids' upbringing, but if it's cheaper than the current options that's good, too.UW_Doog_Bot said:
Or just remove the yuge regulatory and legal barriers to being able to start an in-home daycare. Competition, competition, competition.BleachedAnusDawg said:Bring manufacturing out of East Asia (China, mostly) and back to the US. Sorry to be shouting at you from 1950.
It worked for the beer brewing industry. -
You can *kind of* do this but the reality is that a lot of those jobs lost to China will instead go off to other cheap places; Malaysia, India, Philippines, etc. It's already happening. Trump had the right idea with bilateral trade deals with individual countries.BleachedAnusDawg said:Bring manufacturing out of East Asia (China, mostly) and back to the US. Cracking down on illegal aliens, reinvigorating trade job training, and getting government the fuck out of the way of the economy are all more likely to improve the working man's wages than wishing 50's era manufacturing will return.
As to the second part, the only real policy thing to do is to stop incentivizing divorce(for women) and to dismantle the government as middle man child-support racket. Otherwise, get government the fuck out of culture as fast as we can. -
Just got back from getting my 3.5 year old a Covid test. Sent home from daycare for diarrhea. State regulations. Negative test as expected. Positive antibodies from a month ago. Probably the tenth negative Covid test she has taken.
Did our president get a Covid test for his diarrhea? -
Is this anything like when you guys say universal healthcare costs more because you add on the new cost and never subtract the current cost?

The classic politician move is to take something that everyone wants or that sounds good (child poverty!) And then load it up with nonsense and then go see! They hate children!

If you understood basic economics, you might be able to understand what cost means in this scenario. And there's a chance if you understood economics you also wouldn't have such childish views. Do better.TheKobeStopper said:Is this anything like when you guys say universal healthcare costs more because you add on the new cost and never subtract the current cost?
