I thought for the longest time he was saying "Tippy Toe Louisiana"... -
Waylon JenningsI voted for Waylon, but I like me some Conway Twitty. His songs are dirty,
Tight fitting jeans
Slow love makin
I see the want to in your eyes
Red neckin love making night -
Kenny Rogers
So you're giving Waylon credit for giving up a seat on a flight?YellowSnow said:
Waylon's biography is the stuff of legend.RaceBannon said:The 70's was when country was loosing the bonds of the Nashville sound and formula
Gotta go Waylon for his part in bringing outlaw country to the rock n roll kids. Nice meld. And he was in the Crickets
But country always wants to go back to formula.
He survived the day the music died. Told Nashville to FO and won bigly.
King George can't touch Waylon's achievements. Come at me bro @Tequilla
Waylon's great ... King George kicks his ass in every other manner not pertaining to drug use -
Waylon JenningsWaylon...Nuff said on that.

Waylon giving Nashville the middle finger and gaining control over his own sound and spawning the outlaw genre >>>> King George's being the leader of the neo-traditionalist country movement.Tequilla said:

All for giving Nashville the middle finger … diversity in anything is greatYellowSnow said:

Waylon’s great … you can argue that his high points are as high as anybody
I’ll give tons of credit when it comes to intangibles like sphere of influence … I won’t give credit for intangibles like huge substance abuse issues making someone a legend … in the case of Waylon it’s impossible to not say that his demons had a negative impact on his career
We’re likely splitting hairs here as anybody that doesn’t have both on a Top 10 GOAT list is probably idiotic -
John DenverI hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Drivin' down the road, I get a feelin'
That I should've been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads -
Waylon Jennings
I'm fine with King George in the top 10.Tequilla said:

Waylon's hard living is part of what made him a legend. The rock star lifestyle ozees into so many of the songs and gives them soul. -

Lulz. I just sexted @swaye like 60 mins ago that "West Virginia, Mountain Mama" was probably the best lyric in the history of popular music.huskyhooligan said:I hear her voice in the mornin' hour, she calls me

Willie NelsonYou put Waylon and Willie together, and they are the absolute best Cuntry Music has ever had to offer. Luckenbach, TX is as good of a country song as has ever been recorded.
