I wouldn’t read too much into the attendance, impressive as it was. The weather was decent (especially compared to two years ago), first conference game, first game with school in session/summer is over. So I bet there’s a novelty factor, especially for the freshmen. Good News is UW is finding how many diehard fans they truly have as not seeing nearly as many people leaving at halftime and not coming back.
Bad News is that number seems to be around 30k season ticket holders, and another 10k who are coming via secondary market tickets, etc which equals about a 2/3rd full stadium once you include the 5000 students who were there Saturday Night.
We’ll see if it continues.
