Little known fact that humans evolved as meat eaters. Animal protein is not a problem in the modern human diet. The problem is carbohydrates, especially sugar. Nobody gets diabetes from a ribeye steak. They get it from pancakes, milkshakes, potato chips, cinnamon rolls, etc. and a lack of exercise.

Agreed, the issue is not meat, it's proceed foods.
Eat real food and stop eating processed garbage.

I don't really know who to blame but the cost of food that's good for you versus the food that is shit for you really is a problem.
Also the stuff that is bad for you tastes really good. Most things in moderation. -
