It makes total sense that he would say things like this if you examine his behavior as president. It completely jives with his record. And there's no reason to believe anything that his administration says. He's a proven liar. The only government denial we would have to examine is the Israelis'. But it makes sense that they would deny it because they don't want to be seen as openly feuding with their primary 'ally.'
