There were also some differences in rules... one being that if the offense makes a sub, then play stops until the d can make a sub. Also, the refs are required to change out balls more and some other bullshit.

The NFL and college have both had that rule for years. If the offense subs, it's only fair to let the defense sub. That's not what Chip wants to do though.

    Referring to this:

"The NFL's policy on substitutions won't help the Eagles, either. If an offensive team substitutes a player, Blandino said, it doesn't matter how quickly that player gets to the line of scrimmage—the defense will also be allowed to make its substitutions. NFL referees, he said, will go so far as standing over the ball to make sure the defenders have time to get in the game."

They do the same thing in college and they have for years.

    Rule 3-5-2-e:

While in the process of substitution or simulated substitution, Team A is prohibited from rushing quickly to the line of scrimmage with the obvious attempt of creating a defensive disadvantage. If the ball is ready for play, the game officials will not permit the ball to be snapped until Team B has placed substitutes in position and replaced players have left the field of play. Team B must react promptly with its substitutes.

Chip's offense was deadly in Oregon because they DIDN'T have to substitute. They used the same 11 guys in a variety of formations at high tempo to create nightmare matchups.

Yes a lot of the time Chip would have his Ducks no huddle and completely change the formation cause his guys are so versatile. Like DAT one play can be a RB and another can be a WR.

So by doing that he didn't allow defenses to adjust. I'm sure he'll do that in the NFL.

If Percy Harvin is healthy the Seahawks will probably try that sometimes as well.
