Giving everyone $200 to get there early, Giving out a purple shirt as they walked in the stadium AND having another one as a back-up on each seat, then hoping peer pressure would get the holdouts to throw it on.
Even then, I'm not convinced that would work.

I'm convinced that if you did it right, with the long intro playing as the team gathers (everyone can see them on the jumbo screen, right?) does their hype thing with all the jumping around and grab assing that excited kids do, then bursts onto the field with smoke etc right as the main riff kicks off, then it would catch on in a hurry.
