The best live, electric performances I've seen of him were from around the time of Ragged Glory...I think what became the Weld tour? I kept getting those videos in my YouTube feed from the Neil channel a few months ago. Really impressive and the best guitar work I've heard from him. That was peak Neil for my $$, better than the Rust tour. -

Took my wife to the Greendale tour on the Muckleshoot rez. She couldn't believe someone could play the guitar, harmonica and sing all at once. Still talks about it

I recall around this time, he was the headliner for Blind Melon, Pearl Jam. Neil came out and 30% of the crowd left.
He didn't help himself with one song, "Love and Only Love". At the end he would sing, "...love and only love..." strum a chord and sustain. He did that amount 40 times. Even I, as a huge Neil fan, had enough.
