You have a good one down in Bend Yella - I can't remember the name of it but bought some obscure CDs there - Velvet Underground was one...

Ranch Records is ok, but pales in comparison to best Seattle shops. The Central Oregon hicks didn’t have great collections that made their way to the used bins.

    2nd Time Around Music
One of these places had nudey posters and titty mags in the back, and the rest did not. Fags! (Send nudes.)

Also the CD that was stolen from your car ended up at 2nd time for a fraction of the cost.

I think cellophane bought used stuff. I remember Warehouse on 45th and Roosevelt did as well. Probably the best in the area was Silver Platters on 1st Ave NE near Northgate. They had everything. They had those silver platter bucks that basically equated to if you bought 10k of cd's you'd get a single free but it kept one coming back. Extra star for free accessible parking.

I also took advantage of the buy 3 get 19 free deals each time I changed my address as all good college students did at the time. A lot of full albums of 90s one hit wonders.

Wasn't it 10 for a pemmy to get you locked in? Followed by the many "Oh shit, I forgot to decline" moments for the "Album of the Month"...My intro to Steely Dan (Countdown to Ecstasy) as a 12 year old, taking 10-plus years of living to figure out what the songs were about, Nils Lofgren, Garland Jeffries...Lots of good shit that never saw the radio.

With all the traveling for work I have done, I spent so much down time in record (and book) stores...I miss that (NOT the travel)...

They don’t. Catalytic converters are the new bag.

I wonder if 2nd Time sells them...

    Cellophane Square
I also remember the Cellophane at Bel Square. I think it is where the McDonalds is down that hallway. I bought Number of the Beast and Her Satanic Majesty’s Request with check #666 at Silver Platters in Overlake. Another cool location for a record store was Easy Street at Park Place in Kirkland. It was also a Ticketmaster outlet.
