Of course there are people alive that have been through it. Every first world country but us has universal healthcare. Their stories of not dying because they could afford insulin and not going into crushing debt for cancer treatments are harrowing.MikeDamone said:
I want those this too. The difference is you want it at gun point. I want it by allowing people unbridled opportunity to achieve their desires and dreams. You want to crush people’s soul with a government check and dependence. It’s been done. And there are people alive today who lived through it and are now free and will fight you to the to the death to ever put them in that situation again.TheKobeStopper said:

If I had any interest in power I wouldn’t be a fucking socialist lol. Jesus Christ, we can’t even become mayor without that city trying to eliminate the position of mayor. We can’t even get a public fucking option. Are you fucking high? Power????? Kshama Sawant is one of the most powerful socialists in America, she’s a fucking city council member. Sober up, you’re embarrassing yourself.
I want America to become a better place, I want everyone to have healthcare, to be able to attend college, to be able to trust that their elected representatives aren’t taking bribes, to fight climate change. I also want to fuck with you guys on socialism but that’s just for funsies.

For instance, I don't give a shit if Americans have healthcare. They control their lives, and can control their healthcare. Figure it the fuck out, I did.
I want there to be college available as well. For everyone who is intelligent and can afford to pay for it. Why should I pay to educate you or anyone else?
I'm not sure the climate is even changing. Well, the climate is changing, but it's been doing that for 5 billion years. I am not sure how much of an effect we are having on it. Some, I'm sure. The degree is the issue. But I do agree I like pristine woodland areas available so I can hunt and shoot deer. And I like clean water. Just not sure about electric cars. They seem like they are mostly for fags and suburban women.
So, this really leaves us with your desire to "trust that their elected representatives aren't taking bribes." A question then? Why did you vote for a guy who has taken bribes?
I'll take my answer off the air.

Here’s a good read on why we should pay to educate others.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_education_in_the_United_States
And this is my personal favorite part-
From 1910 to 1940, high schools grew in number and size, reaching out to a broader clientele. In 1910, for example, 9% of Americans had a high school diploma; in 1935, the rate was 40%.[118] By 1940, the number had increased to 50%
So, at one point, we were really only covering school to 14 years old and then we expanded it to high school. That seemed to go pretty well, I think post 1940 America did alright.
There is a good reason public education did not take off until the 40’s.
The United States was mostly an agrarian country - small farms.
There was no free healthcare . , . There was no healthcare for the most part.
Antibiotics (penicillin) became available around WWII. Death from infections was common.
Infant deaths were common.
Ever hear of the Spanish Flu pandemic. It killed 500
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/1918-commemoration/1918-pandemic-history.htm
Kids often went to work on the farm as soon as they were able to help support their extended families.
My grandfather, a dairy farmer, died at the age of 42 in 1923. They think stomach cancer.
Don’t really know. He left a wife with six kids, between the ages of 2-1/2 and 11. No Government assistance. The mother washed and ironed for others to make money. They had a garden. The eldest five children dropped out of school when they were able to find a paying job to help support the family. The youngest was the only able to stay in school and graduate from high school. Her mother died at age 51, when she was 13. The mother allegedly died from improper care after having her six kids.

Ever hear of the Spanish Flu pandemic. It killed 675,000 Americans. One-third of the world’s population (500 million) became infected with it. 10% died.

The United States also dealt with polio, which was a threat until a vaccine was developed (See FDR).
The United States also dealt with TB. People were sent to TB hospitals until a cure was found . . . Antibiotics, I believe.

I’ve seen public school photos from elementary schools in the BethanyHelvetia area west of Portland. These were the children of Swiss/German immigrants. Most of the kids are barefoot, somewhat dirty and not smiling.

They also lived through the Depression, where attending school was a luxury.
Attending college was primarily for the rich, privileged and well educated individuals, until Post WW II when the GI Bill came into play.
Public school through high school was available prior to 1940.
It’s just that the circumstances, lifespans and large families required people, including young folks to work to help support their families, simply to have basic food and shelter.
Farming required the children to work, particularly during the harvest, thus summer vacations at school.
You must realize that mechanized farming didn’t really take off until the 1940’s. Horses, plows and people did the work.
The opportunities were available for an education. Other pressing needs came first, like having food to eat and shelter.
The people were not lazy or entitled. They simply did not have opportunities.
Finding a job in Portland during the Depression was virtually impossible.
The Boomers (post-WWII) were the first generation to benefit from universal public education because the economy was growing.
Their parents (Depression-era) were tough and thankful to be in this country. And yes, almost all of their parents grew up very poor (as children) by today’s standards.
Your conclusions from the Wiki post are pure unadulterated horse manure without including context. -
Maybe George Washington was faking it? He put his left hand in the jacket. Seriously though, do 33 degreers really swear an allegiance to Satan or is that some kind of interpretation of their beliefs? Could it be they just have some odd beliefs like the mormons who believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers and that when the men of their cult die they are going to inherit their own planet and become their own gods to be worshiped by all the souls they collected here on earth? This is of course if they wore the same fucking magic underwear their whole lives or some fucking bullshit like that.oregonblitzkrieg said:Josef Stalin was a 33rd Degree Freemason.
