Please enumerate these powers? You do know that it is illegal for police to go on strike right? Strikes are the largest tool of unions. The greatest power the police union provides is a voice. Individual officers can't speak freely. The union board members can without repercussions. Did you know if the union and the city can't come to an agreement on a contract that the city simply imposes one? No input from the union. Bupkis. I've worked for extended periods without a contract while the city drags it's feet. I've gone as many as 8 years without a raise. I sure want to know where all this power lies! Fill me in I'll let the cops know!UW_Doog_Bot said:
This is completely and hilariously false. They just have less power than the OTHER public unions.Sledog said:Police unions have zero power in Kali. None.
Definitely should never have allowed ANY public unions.
In Kali the largest protection for police is the peace officers bill of rights.

You realize a police department is a paramilitary organization right? You realize they will order you to answer any questions they wish. You do not have the right to remain silent.

I've been Lybargered more than once. Happens after use of force cases of the more serious type. No fun. But I had zero worries.
You can be ordered in to work. Ordered to work whatever hours. Schedules can be imposed that weren't in the contract. There are legal recourses for abuses but they take a lot of time.
