All I know is I’ve consumed A LOT of mediocre UW podcasts in the last year or two.

Ballz is the worst kind of race baiting cunt. He talked shit, called names, threatened, boasted about his size and ethnicity, then was hypervigilant about finding any opening to label someone as racist. Simply disagreeing with him enough times or too strongly was all it took. Fuck him.

Dennis went off the deep end from what I could see. His DDY shtick, at the end,, wasn't even a caricature. It seemed like he got lost in it.

I dont know what his original background in football was, but he had some connection to the original site/s that became dawgman. He's been evaluating football recruits for a long time. It didn't make him right all the time or even often, but he is experienced at it.
Oh fuck, I kinda forgotten about that, and your right. Maybe I won't go trolling the Everett reststop tonight looking to bring back @Ballz . Or I might.

Did DDY or Coker's commentary here or on Twatter or on TSIO have any impact whatsoever on the trajectory of the football program? Doubtful IMHO.

Who cares if they are 2 guys who are full of shit on the above talking points? Does it make Hardcore Husky a less respected hive of scum and villainy than it already is?
Apparently it was used to negatively recruit? Im not sure though

It absolutely does. Almost all of the stuff joked about on here is tongue in cheek and it would take a real square to take it seriously. This was a notable exception. It was straight up racism..."black people are aggressive and violent thug ballers, Eddie and Levi arent really black, lighter skinned players don't really count as black by my Ivory Tower ignorant deductions"

Your weird enablement of this shit is noted I guess

It's not weird enablement of anything for Christ's sake, PGOS. I never agreed with their shitty takes on the subject.

DDY and Coker - in spite of their delusions of grandeur - are nobody's in the world of Husky football punditry.

    Their opinions aren't influencing shit.

It's okay to say that the racist shit they were posting was incredibly bad optics for this website at the very, very least. Especially since most of it took place on the recruiting board...which parents and recruits do read.

It was really fucking bad and people are being disingenuous by glossing over it. Case closed.

I agree wholeheartedly that a lot of their theories were B.S.

But I have a hard time believing that their commentary on our board had any influence on our recruiting one way or another. Why would a recruit and their parents decide not to commit to UW based on DDY/Coker vs a 100 deciding other factors.

People have said it was used to negatively recruit. Whether OKG was already being used to negatively recruit by other schools before or after they went off the deepend, I dont know.

I know Derek doesnt go on the recruiting board as he doesn't really care about it, but to have a power user like DDY spewing that shit all over the website was, like I said earlier, incredibly cringe at best and damaging at worst.

I thought DDY and Coke were funny and even listened to the pod every now and then before they went full on psycho with this nonsense. Like literally labeling race in the title of their threads about high schoolers.

    It was bad. Case closed.

The recruit and parents wouldn't nor would they decide to eliminate or commit to one school over another b/c of any message boards.

The percentage a recruit would decide to come to UW (or any school) based on message boards is the same as training table offering hamburgers on Tuesday and Hot Dogs Wednesday not the other way around.

I begrudgingly admit that I too was a listener of TSIO. It had entertainment value to me, that much is true. But I also thought DDY was a huge assclown. It's still unclear to me if he was actually gay? Black? Paraplegic? Had any football credentials besides self proclaimed ones?

I would be glad to see Ballz return cus that guy is gold in every way (except ruining threads sometimes). DDY and Coke can get fucked tho. Last thing we need is them returning with tails tucked from there massive failure and getting built up a lil by being welcomed back. That would catapult them into another dimension of undeserving arrogance. Trust that it's better without them.

Ballz can walk in that door anytime as far as I'm concerned tho.

    Thanks for listening

I called DDY an enemy of the program to his internet face a few times. Rather than crying about bullying he chinned the poasts everytim.

Dennis could dish it out but he could also take it. He took his pet theories a little too seriously but he never took himself too seriously. I respect the dude.
For those that know DDY, it's easy to see how/why he takes his theories a little too far

Even some of his worst takes I could see the logic behind where he was coming from ... the disconnect normally in the form that he took some of his hypotheses as being more prevalent (at least consciously) than they likely were

People will use anything to their advantage if they can ...

Would using the opinions of message board idiots as a pitch in my recruiting be part of my strategy? Absolutely not.

But if that narrative in some ways is already being floated as a strategy in certain circles and I can piggy back on people saying "see, even their own people think their program is ____" ... I've seen crazier things.

Whether we like it or not at times, perception can be reality at times ...

It'd have been one thing for some of these narratives that were advanced to be "hey, I'm seeing this narrative being advanced in certain circles and it's not a good one ... that said, there's lot of evidence in the program that says that that narrative is BS" ...

The problem was that those that took communicating those narratives and ran with them in ways that almost assuredly weren't realistic at all ...

Without going full Tug here, my opinion simply is that I don't think a large percentage of the people look at what they do daily as being completely through the lens of race ... does it happen? Absolutely. But for the vast majority, I really do think that people evaluate each other based on their qualities as a person.
