Waiting for our group to be seated in a restaurant in NB the night before my final wedding (he was waiting with his wife), he noticed a very large ring I was wearing, and came up and asked if it was a Superb Owl ring (it was not). UCLA was a real program for much of his tenure. Had some great teams in the 70s and 80s. When the PAC 12 was tuff.

I think James has the best blend of longevity and success that typically is associated with greatness. Pete was undoubtedly a better coach on a per game basis but look at somebody like Kelly - he was too, until he wasn't.YellowSnow said:
