He was probably one of those “move to Canada” guys
-
Why would he quit? He will be one of the teams to be the Yankees of college football.
-
In my opinion schools should only have sports as club participation. The NFL should have minor leagues and the players can get paid what they are worth, rather being than being ripped off and exploited by colleges.

That's the future and there will be no Hookers and Blow Centers in the NFL minor leaguesMikeDamone said:In my opinion schools should only have sports as club participation. In other news, some things don't: Bobby Bonilla, who retired 21 years ago received his yearly $1.19 million deferral payment today

Someone said if had taken the lump sum and left it to compound at 8% annually he'd have 800 million or so

How big was the lump sum?RaceBannon said:Someone said if had taken the lump sum and left it to compound at 8% annually he'd have 800 million or so

This math assumes he parked 100% of the $, reinvested the dividends and didn't spend any of it. It also excludes the massive drawdowns he would have experienced in 2000-2001 and again in 2008-2009. Taking the guaranteed yearly payout also allowed him to keep his existing portfolio fully invested, knowing he would receive $1.2 million every year through age 72.RaceBannon said:
I may have exaggerated just a tad
Bobby is ahead taking the $ in installments.
AND the Feds and NY would have taken 60% of the $5.9, leaving him with $2.9 million. This way he only pays tax on the installments each year. New administrations, new attitudes, Bobby paid less in tax taking the installments -

I have read the articles on the Mets and Bonilla before. It’s not as bad for the Mets as perceived by the public. There was something about losing money with Madoff that makes it shitty for the Mets.

Imagine taking the lump sum 21 years ago and dividing it equally between Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Google.RaceBannon said:Someone said if had taken the lump sum and left it to compound at 8% annually he'd have 800 million or so
