I thought this thread would get many replies. You just never know in the message board game.

Yeah, as a general rule, a big-time highly productive college running back has about the same probability of having a decent career in the NFL as a UDFA running back from a non p5 school that didn't do shit in collegePitchfork51 said:What went wrong? Being a fucking running back.

I think what happened is that he messed up his ankles. Also probably was not quite as good as his OL at Stanford made him look.

Makes the long of list of Stanford running back success stories in the NFL.
1) Christian McCaffrey
2) Who? -
I thought Toby Gerhart was going to be something.greenblood said:Makes the long of list of Stanford running back success stories in the NFL.

He was good.
He got injured badly in the big game with uw.
They made the injury permanent by doping him up so he could play the second half iirc.
Bad call. Cost him potentially millions of dollars. He was never the same. -

NFL teams don't line up with three tight ends and a tackle at fullback

A RB shouldn’t want to be a workhorse for more than one season in college. Split carries the first two years, break out junior year, go pro. They can only take so many hits until they get slower or are chronically injured.bananasnblondes said:

2 loss UW doesn't get into the game. Conference wasn't as bad that year as people think, it's just that the South was horrible.
Shittiest of the 3 Norte teams went to the Pac12 Championship game. -
Myles should have left his junior yearRoadDawg55 said:

Fullback. At least most teams regularly rotate at least two RBs, so plenty of jobs out there.Pitchfork51 said:What went wrong? Being a fucking running back.

workhorse is okay ... to a degree.
but fucking medicating and covering up a serious injury in order to play 2 quarters and incurring even more difficult repair/rehab .... is stupid.
Mortgaging your entire future for 2 quarters is not worth it. but I guess thanks to Allah for that Stanford degree.
