We're obviously uniquely vulnerable to cyberattacks on critical infrastructure given our size, wealth, and open society. There's such a thing now as "Cyber Attack" insurance policies that corporations can take out on themselves. Although this isn't recommended because - guess what? The bad guys know who has these policies, and direct their attacks on those corporations to get the payoff. Giving in to the bad guys doesn't always guarantee you'll be safe, looks like Colonial got screwed.
