Set aside money for a 43 year old woman to get married? Either give her a cut or don’t. Making the sister use the money for what the caller deems acceptable is as bad as the sister being cut out in the first place.

I went through this when my dad died. I have half-sister and brother, twins, who are 14 years older than me. Just before lift-off, he told me that I was getting all of it, and to use my gut on what to do with them. We very rarely saw each other, no acrimony, yada yada. With no forewarning, I sent them checks for 25k, after the funeral. Got a couple of nice thank you notes, haven't seen or heard from them since (20yrs)...Yeah, I'm soft, but I sleep well...
