I guess I would expect more media pushback on these so-called progressives for embracing terms like Oreo and Uncle Tom to disparage minorities who dare stray from their identity politics groupthink, but the last 10 years has really taught me that I shouldn’t.
This ideological chasm between left and right really isn’t about race and equality at all, even though issues surrounding such are used as political fodder to demean and cancel one’s opponent. This is about what it’s always been about, and that’s money and power.
At its core, the DNC doesn’t give fuck all about BLM or immigration, outside of the context of garnering more votes at the ballot box. They don’t give a shit about sexual assault or gun violence, or public health either. They don’t give a fuck about polar ice caps or working wages, or national security or free trade. They care about votes and that’s fucking it.
The game hasn’t changed all that much, it’s just that there are less common decency rules to abide by. I mean I can’t fucking imagine the level of arrogance one has to have to call themselves a warrior for social justice in one breath and then use the term Uncle Tom to describe a black man who doesn’t agree with their views on systemic racism in the next.
