We had some decent corners in the in dark years. Roc Alexander, Omare Lowe, even Roy Lewis.
They weren't #DBU level corners but fun to watch in their owen ways.
(At least I am pretty sure that’s him getting torched)
(so weird I have no memory of that cover despite being an SI subscriber from the early 90s through early 2000s, must be my East Coast Bias) -
I didn't think it was that far back but I'm not sure.FremontTroll said:

Must be a Quook 'Shop, they didn't even have a November 8, 1997 issue. It was Nov 10.FremontTroll said:

We havent had DBs get burned like our second string vs a terrible Arizona team since McKinney in the Rose Bowl, and prior to that not since maybe Baylor in 2011dnc said:

I'm dooging hard and think this DB group might be our best yet. Trent/Kyler are legit playmakers at CB, Bookie at nickel, Hampton and whoever at S (anyone but Asa, maybe Kamfab or Cam Williams makes the leap).
We haven't had a Bookie-type alpha enforcer personality on D since Azeem died against USC in 2016. -

Bookie was a solid get, but I don’t expect him to be any better than the worst or 2nd worst starting DB. I know you’re talking about him as an enforcer and I love that he plays with heart, but I’m also ready to hate him.Gladstone said:I'm dooging hard and think this DB group might be our best yet. McDuffie and Gordon should be as good as any CB group we have had. Gordon was improved last year and I expect another leap from him.
I hope (and think there is an actual chance) Turner is done at UW. His play last year was unforgivable.
Cam was singled out by Bob Gregory for doing well and it seems the coaches really want Hampton in the line up. Turner and Cook starting at safety last year was strange. I don’t think either guy will this year.
Like you said, Bookie or KamFab can also play safety and the loser at nickel probably should. We also have Covington. -
Dicks hitting the portal... or maybe Sean or pleasant. I hope Sean stays though.

Maybe a 5% chance he ever becomes a starter.dnc said:

Yeah, I think we lose 2 of those guys. It sounds like Cam Davis is emerging as the #1 back. If that is the case, the seniors are not going to hang around to split a handful of carries or be used as blockers on passing downs. Sam Adams also seems to be firmly entrenched as the clear 7th team running back so I could see him leaving, being moved positions, or bothdirtysouwfdawg said:Dicks hitting the portal... or maybe Sean or pleasant. Shocked, quite honestly, both that UW will allow than many in and that many want in.FecalFeast said: -

I'll put my bet on Pleasant, Newton, and Adams portaling. I have a feeling McGrew sticks no matter what. Here are my odds to portal if Davis is the starter, which I don't recommend anyone using as a basis to bet money:bananasnblondes said:

Adams...60% regardless. He probably sees the writing on the wall in terms of his future ar RB. UW will always have better prospects in the depth.
Newton...51%. I dont see him sticking to be a role player. He still has time to go establish himself somewhere.
Pleasant...33%. Pleasant is a great fit as a role player in the UW offense. He's a decent blocker, big, and a good receiver. I just think he'd have a better shot somewhere else that also features RBs in diverse roles but doesn't have so many decent running backs.
