Salvation Army and Union Gospel Mission are legit. A little preachy but they actually try to get the downtrodden out of filth and back to being productive citizens.Blu82 said:

What used to be called Lutheran World Relief (can't think of the name at the moment) and the Salvation Army are 2 of the very few.
Catholic Charities is so fucking misguided. Bloated executive staff, shit no barrier shelters - total shit show meant to enable their existence and continue to fleece their donors. Endorsed by the diocese wherever they set up shop. Their performance along the southern border should be stuff of legendary investigative work - but crickets.
Blood on Catholic Charities hands - enabling criminal enterprise.

Funny you mention those two. Those are the two I primarily donate to.PurpleThrobber said:

1.4M doesn’t buy much whether you’re in Bellevue, SF, or LA.
But that doesn’t matter because 1.4M is still 1.4M and this person is still just a community activist.
1.4M buys you mansion in Dallas and a postage stamp in SF or NYC, but that isn’t the fucking point. -
If you're buying in Westwood, Santa Monica, Brentwood or most of West LA $1.4 won't get you a mansion. But she bought out in Topanga Canyon, and as long as your place doesn't have a view of the ocean or a good chunk of land $1.4 will get you a little more out there then it would in most of West LA. The funny thing is you couldn't find a whiter area of LA if you tried. The only POC's out there are the nanny's and the gardeners and they ain't black.Tequilla said:Isn't $1.4M for a home in LA pretty much a going rate for an average home?
I mean you can't find anything in Seattle worth a damn for under $1M -
You are exaggerating a little...the area she moved into is 1.4% black...SFGbob said:

I saw that was her 4th those purchase.

I wasn’t calling out the price as anything more than people look at that number like it has sticker shock but it really doesn’t on the west coastSFGbob said:

I don’t really care where people decide to live ...
But one thing that stands really clear to me just in general with today’s world ...
The value of actions vs words -
Exodus of sane people, but plenty of lunatics lining up to fill their space.TurdBomber said:Tequilla said:Isn't $1.4M for a home in LA pretty much a going rate for an average home?

Give it one more year. The exodus has begun.
