Justin Herbert named NFL Rookie of the Year

“Justin Herbert has been named the 2020 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year, the NFL announced Thursday morning. The Los Angeles Chargers’ quarterback, the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NFL draft, set numerous records during his first professional season.”
“ Herbert set NFL single-season records for the most passing touchdowns by a rookie quarterback (31) and most total touchdowns by a rookie quarterback (36). In addition, he posted the most completions (396) and second-most passing yards (4,336) by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.”

Congrats to Justin.
Very sleek design on the trophy. They improved on my original design idea. Hopefully they’re still using my pitch of having the trophies increase in size to correlate with the prestige of the award. Keep plugging away Justin, you’ll get there.

Never would have guessed in a million years watching his mediocre Oregon career but it's hard to argue.
Good for Herbert. -
Oregon was pretty mediocre when Fouts was there. Sixkiller had a winning record against him. But Fouts was built for the NFL. Herbert is similardnc said:Never would have guessed in a million years watching his mediocre Oregon career but it's hard to argue.

15th in league history in passing yards (10,541) and 6th in passing TDs (95), and a Rose Bowl win is a solid college career. It’s definitely better than “mediocre” considering he was going to go play with his brother at Montana State prior to have a big camp summer after his junior season of HS.dnc said:Never would have guessed in a million years watching his mediocre Oregon career but it's hard to argue.

QBs who start for four years amass a lot of stats? Who knew??NorthwestFresh said:

He's looking up at Jake Browning in yards, total TDs, yards per pass, wins, winning percentage, division titles and conference championships. Yes he got the RB win but then Herbert also never made the playoff.
If it takes a total homer to say your career was as good as Jake Browning's you were mediocre.

Shitty QBs don't. Herbert was hampered with crappy coaches for most of his career.dnc said:

Browning played in 53 games. Herbert played in 43 and didn’t start until game 5 of his freshman year.dnc said:

What did Jake Browning have to do with Herbert’s career other than he played 10 more games?
You don’t know much about football if you think Herbert had a “mediocre” career. I wouldn’t know though because usually you’re posting about your mancrush DJ. -

It seems someone in the NFL spent 30 seconds telling him you’re allowed to throw the ball away.SFGbob said:

Justin Jefferson was an all-pro. This reeks of racism
