I went with the F-22 simply so I could give a Fuck Off Row Peter Puffer to Rowboat for not including it. Either are acceptable answers.
Moving beyond the truly overpowered fighters, my favorites on the list are the are of course the F-18 (duh), the Corsiar and the Hellcat because killing Japs was cool, and the Phantom because that big brick was a hell of a machine. -
