Fargo

I love Fargo. It’s such a subtle and well crafted film, with this delightful dark humor.
While I did not grow up in the Midwest, I spent enough time there visiting my extended family I appreciate how the film masterfully captures that region’s vibe.
My aunts really do talk like Frances McDormand‘s character. -
Trainspotting
I've never even been to the region, but I've had quite a few friends and coworkers from Wisconsin and Minnesota. One fishing buddy from Minnesota would fit so well in that movie that when it came out I felt like they did it just for me...so I could laugh at the way he spoke even more than I already did.Doog_de_Jour said:

When I was in school we had a couple of big old gals from Canader on the women's squad. They used to think I looked like a young version of William H Macey and would call me Lundegaard. As retaliation I dated their much better looking Cuban American (shout out @creepycoug ) room mate.Doog_de_Jour said:

Knowing what you look like IRL I can definitely say you look nothing like William H Macey.YellowSnow said:

The Minnesota/Wisconsin accent is pretty amusing but I love it.chuck said:

Scream
Yeah well there's no accounting for taste I guess, big guy.YellowSnow said:
I almost didn't include it, but am trying to be as objective as possible.Gladstone said:Scream is in my top 20 all time. Greatest slasher ever made and 2nd best horror outside of Alien (1979) for me. Single-handedly resurrected the horror genre in the 90s. Probably the greatest horror opening scene too. 10/10

Independence DayIndependence Day was such a blockbuster. The hype was so high, and it lived up to the hype.
