1) People joining the WH not able to get payouts leaving their former employers only makes sense for large payments designed to gain favor. People need to be able to collect what is owed to them on the way out the door.
2) Putting 1 year bans on people leaving working for lobbyists is effectively a non-compete agreement that is in place for any key employees in any business ... so if anything this is just bringing the government loosely inline with the private sector
3) As Race I believe noted, the payouts come on the back end in terms of next job, next book, etc
Finally, the thing that needs to be evaluated is whether or not provisions are safeguarding, favoring, and insulating government employees vs being infused with mix from private sector. Regardless of political leaning, we should all be highly skeptical of career politicians ... particularly those that operate in a partisan manner. -

This is a really bad misunderstanding of what’s happening. I expect Biden to do the same, these measures are put in place for individual presidency’s. The difference is Biden is blocking payments to his appointees on the way in.RaceBannon said:
